First volunteer opportunity arises with park clean-up
The 2012-2013 session of the National Honor Society commenced with its first member meeting Sept. 13. Secretary senior Carter Robinson said he was energized and hopeful with the outcome and turnout of the first meeting.
“There was a good turnout for the first meeting which I hope will continue for the rest of the year,” he said. “I hope that we will be able to greatly help the community with the amount of members that we have.”
The group’s first event will be Sept. 29 from 1 to 3 p.m. where members will meet at Wolfe Park then go around and clean multiple parks in the Twin Cities area.
Preceding the Park cleanup will be a potluck picnic which Robinson said he is looking forward to as well.
“Hopefully (the picnic) will be a good bonding experience for all members,” he said.
