Musical’s sneak peek entices student body
After Monday’s preview of the musical, “All Shook Up” is ready to take on the full production.
Before every play or musical, the theater program holds previews throughout the day for all English classes to attend. The theater program previewed a small portion of the play, not necessarily in order, and followed with a Q and A session. As a member of the pit orchestra, junior Claire Olson said she thinks the previews were very beneficial to the theater program.
“I think (the previews) really get people excited about the show,” Olson said, “It gives (those involved in theater) a chance to perform in front of an audience before the real show.”
Audience members also found the Q and A session afterward to be helpful according to freshman Mara Bacig.
“I think it’s helpful because the theater people can explain more if you were confused about something,” Bacig said.
Olson also said she believes students will come to the full musical.
“Some of the audiences were more receptive than others. I think some may have been confused because it’s a complicated plot,” Olson said, “Most asked a lot of good questions and I think they will come see it because it was a lot of fun.”
The full production will be showing this weekend Nov. 9-11 and Nov. 16-18 in the auditorium. Friday and Saturday night shows at 7 p.m., while the Sunday showings are during the day at 2 p.m. The cost of admission for students and seniors is $7 and adults are $10.
