“Our first meeting had many new members along with old ones and other students have requested to join after the meeting took place,” Magdal said.

Members on the team meet a few Wednesdays of every month and learn about a wide variety of science topics. According to Magdal, topics that will be covered this year include bridge building, chemical labs, and entomology, the study of insects.

Club participants’  knowledge is put to the test during regional competitions. Regional competitions take place at various schools throughout the metro and consist of events ranging from building roller coasters to do geology experiments.
