Day One plans to implement their usual events and activities throughout the year as well as adding new ones according to Day One adviser, Danya Castro.

Day One consists of students from various backgrounds that gather together to plan events and activities throughout the year. Currently, the group plans the first day of school, the multicultural show and teacher appreciation week.

Castro said she plans for the group to become more involved within the school this year by implementing new activities and events for the students.

“I am trying to get that school spirit back,” she said. “Within the past few years the events throughout the school year have been minimal.”

Castro also said Day One is currently working on starting a step team to perform at pep fests, as well as a spirit week with various themes where students could express themselves in a new and fun way.

Junior Totaram Brijmohan joined Day One last year and said he thinks students will enjoy spirit week.

“I think students will like [spirit week] because you get to be someone else for the day,” Brijmohan said.

Spirit week and the step team are still in the early steps of being implemented. But, are hoped to be finished soon.
