Giving blood takes about one hour and can save up to three lives, according to Memorial Blood Center.

The second school blood drive of the year will take place from 8-2:30 p.m. March 4 in the school gym.

Student Council schedules the school blood drives at the times of the year when the blood supply is lowest, making it especially important for students to donate blood, according to Student Council adviser Sarah Lindenberg.

Student council co-president Shoshi Fischman said she believes anyone who is capable of giving blood should sign up.

“Students should give blood because it’s a good opportunity to do good and save lives,” Fischman said.

Students can sign up to give blood March 3 during lunch.
