Park Spark loses its spark

Satirical news source fizzles out

Park Spark, Park’s satirical new website is starting its summer break early this year. Due to a combination of multiple factors, the club ended its activities for the year early.

Junior Justin Less said the end of the year got very hectic for most members of the Park Spark so he decided to make an executive decision to be finished for the year and resume work next school year.

Two seniors started the club last year and Less took over this year as editor-in-chief. He mentioned that earlier in the year, the club held a significant staff but numbers have been steadily dwindling.

Club adviser Chris Nordmark said he is understanding of all the commitments the staff have this time of year.

“In the spring with the weather so nice I’d rather be doing something outside than work on computers inside,” Nordmark said.

Less said next year he hopes to grow the club and see it improve.

“I hope the future of the Park Spark is a bright one but for that to happen the website needs to spread and we need more writers,” Less said. “Hopefully we can get back on track next year.”
