Having a career path in mind is one of the many things that help with future education and career choices.

On April 30, sophomores and juniors will attend the high school career information fair during their advisory periods. The fair will be held in the field house.

Students will be able to gain knowledge about careers they might be interested in as well as hear first hand experience on what it is like to work in their field of interest.

According to Kara Mueller, Career and Technical Education Director, the purpose of the career information fair is to help sophomores and juniors with their future career decisions.

“Our sophomores and juniors will be able to talk to someone in a career that they are interested in, or haven’t thought of,” Mueller said.

Junior Maris Cunningham said the career information fair is a vital resource for students determining their future.

“I think that it is a good opportunity for people who don’t know their future career path to try to figure it out,” Cunningham said.

Mueller said the administration has been organizing this event for five years due to receiving positive feedback.

“The feedback from students and professionals is very good, our school has a very good reputation,” Mueller said.

Cunningham also said the fair should keep running because of the opportunities it provides for students to learn about possible career choices.

“They should keep having the fair because it inspires people to find their calling,” Cunningham said.

The fair will host companies from all six career fields that the Minnesota department of education caters to. All of the companies represented are from the State of Minnesota Labour Industry representing the Minnesota workforce. Some of the companies  are: Cargill, General Mills, Target Corp. and Forest and Natural Resources. Other companies there will represent the various career options presented.
