In the midst of the construction in the high school, construction workers built a snowman on the roof near the C2 hallway Dec. 10. In light of the expected snowfall Jan. 17, Park announced students will be let out two hours early.

According to communications specialist Matt Thomas, students will be released from school two hours early Jan. 17 because of forecasted severe winter weather.

The winter storm is expected to bring five to nine inches of snow from late morning to the evening of Jan. 17, according to the National Weather Service.

As students will be let out early, all afternoon and evening activities are cancelled, according to Thomas.

“There will be no afternoon early childhood preschool. All after school and evening activities are canceled, including the high school one-act play,” Thomas said. “Kids Place will remain open until 6 p.m.”

Nearby districts, including Wayzata Public Schools, have also announced a two-hour early release.

Echo will provide an update if any more information becomes available.
