On Oct. 4, the Aquila and Peter Hobart baseball and softball fields underwent $20,000 of renovations funded by the Minnesota Twins and the Toro Construction company. The constructions included repainting, improving drainage and doing other field work in order to improve conditions for the Park baseball and softball community.

This project aims to upgrade local athletic facilities where cities may not be able to afford construction. The renovations made in Park will have a prominent impact in athletics and will improve the overall experience of high school baseball and softball players.

The editorial board recognizes the impact of the Twins and Toro Constructions’ renovations and thanks the programs for choosing the Park community.

Improving baseball and softball facilities will create an overall positive experience for players and will hopefully attract more students to these sports. The better field drainage will allow players to have more consistent practices and games, helping them improve their skills daily. The editorial board believes these upgrades will boost overall morale of baseball and softball teams and create more Park pride.

Knowing large companies like the Twins and Toro Construction company care about local sports teams makes baseball and softball teams feel more important. These companies have acknowledged that local communities will produce the next generation of Minnesota players and assures Park athletes the role they play in sports is significant.

The editorial board appreciates the timeliness of the construction, allowing the fields to be open for the whole baseball and softball spring season. For the Twins and the Toro Construction company to complete such major renovations in a short amount of time shows the efficiency and dedication of the programs.
