R&B artist Daniel Caesar’s “NEVER ENOUGH” has brought us into a summer feeling. “NEVER ENOUGH” was released on April 5 and is now Caesar’s third studio album after “CASE STUDY 01,” which was released in 2019. Caesar also released a bonus version of “NEVER ENOUGH” which contains three extra tracks.

The first song on the album, “Ocho Rios,” is about how Caesar believes he doesn’t deserve someone but understands how vital she is in his life. He calls her his “saving grace” and acknowledges the fact that he hurt her but hopes she understands that it wasn’t intentional. With Caesar’s catchy chorus and hypnotic guitar strumming, this song easily reaches my top five favorites from this album.

The next three songs on the album, “Valentina,” “Toronto 2014” and “Let Me Go” are all about looking back into the past. While “Valentina” is about Caesar trying to prove his worth to a woman who’s already in a relationship, “Let Me Go” is about asking to be let go from a toxic relationship. “Toronto 2014,” which features Mustafa, is about the nostalgia of that time. Caesar reminisces about that time in his life in the song.

Some mellow tracks that follow into the soulful ones are “Do You Like Me?” and “Disillusioned” featuring serpentwithfeet and the melodic “Buyer’s Remorse” featuring Omar Apollo. “Do You Like Me?” is all about falling head over heels for someone but not being sure on whether they feel the same way. Both “Disillusioned” and “Buyer’s Remorse” are about all of the emotions of being in love.

Some soulful tracks are “Always,” “Pain Is Inevitable” and “Superpowers.” “Always” is about the feeling of wanting the person you lost back. Throughout the song, Caesar is looking back at all of the moments he had with this person and he’s pleading that they don’t forget about what they had. “Pain Is Inevitable” is about the different types of pain and how they’ve affected Caesar. “Superpowers” is about Caesar praising the power that someone has and how great they are.

“Homiesexual” featuring Ty Dolla $ign and “Shot My Baby” both easily are the two utmost catchy songs on the album. “Homiesexual” is about how someone from Caesar’s life has moved onto other people. Caesar knows that maybe they got tired of some aspects about their relationship but they definitely miss some aspects too. “Shot My Baby” is a hypothetical instance on how Caesar caught his girlfriend cheating and how he shot her and the man she was caught with. He talks about the emotions that overtook him and what he saw that day.

The last three tracks are “Cool,” “Vince Van Gogh” and “Unstoppable.” “Cool” is about Caesar reminding someone to keep cool and to remember to keep certain aspects of them to themself. “Vince Van Gogh” is about the gap that Caesar took from music and the spotlight in general. The last track, “Unstoppable” is about how Caesar’s love for this person is unstoppable and how their relationship is everlasting.

I rate “NEVER ENOUGH” five out of five stars. My reason for this is the fact that this album has been on repeat for me and has been playing in my head all day. “NEVER ENOUGH” also brings this nostalgic feeling of having Daniel Caesar back and reminds me of his first album, “Freudian.” Caesar outdid himself and I hope to hear more music like this from him in the future.
