As many anime shows are released, “Demon Slayer” has played a huge role in the community.

Today’s review is “Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Arc.” Season three has officially come out after two seasons and one movie. So far there are four completed episodes on anime platforms such as Funimation and Crunchyroll.

“Demon Slayer” is a show about a village boy, Tanjiro Kamado (Natsuki Hanae) arriving home from selling coal in town just to find his family dead. The only warm body was his little sister, Nezuko Kamado (Akari Kitō). He carried her body up the mountains during a snowy day. Demon blood got into her system so she became a demon. If this plot interests you, start off with watching season one of the show. “Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Arc,” which is season three, goes more in-depth about two of 12 hasiras (pillers), and it explores their powers and backstories even more.

Firstly I’d like to speak about animation. It has really improved from the first season through the third. As someone who has read and completed the manga, I’ve already seen what the mist breathing animation would be like. Seeing it animated was so jaw dropping, especially considering the addition of sound effects and the realistic animation.

The production company that animated “Demon Slayer” is Ufotable. In the first episode it’s clear how realistic the glass and the rooms inside the infinite mansion are. Many anime shows have different production companies but I honestly believe Ufotable is in the top five because of how realistic the animated scenes were — especially episode one.

The soundtrack of the new season hasn’t really changed because they’ve been using the same artists and instrumental music for the past four years. In season one, the music was really touching because of how it’s placed in each scene, from when Tanjiro finds his family in such a gruesome way to when he found Muzan while in a busy city. I love how the theme of the soundtrack from season one hasn’t changed during this season because I love the feeling of familiarity.

The entire series as a whole is really beautiful and heartfelt. From each season to the movie, “Demon Slayer” is just so magnificently done. This entire arc in season three really helped the series out because of what will happen later. Coming from someone who read and finished the manga, it helps out because for all the main backstories to come to place you’ll need a reason for how everything started. I really want others to give “Demon Slayer” a try because of the story, animation, emotions, backstories, fights and much more. Overall I totally recommend it to first-time anime watchers.
