Special education department prepares for finals
Q&A with department director Tami Reynolds
What is the special education department doing for finals week?
Most of the students who receive special education services do the same thing as every other student during finals. Depending on the student’s disability, they may have certain accommodations for testing. Other students who have more severe disabilities do not participate in traditional finals — they have alternate activities.
Do you guys do the same thing for finals every semester?
We do typically handle finals the same way each session.
Are the classes they take similar to classes other students in the school take?
Yes, finals week is typically the same for students in special education as it is for other students.
