Team looks forward after first loss
After a 4-2 loss to Waconia, the boys’ hockey team prepares for their next game against Bloomington Kennedy Dec. 8.
Head coach Shjon Podein said the team played well against Waconia in the first game of the season, but they can all make improvements.
“We worked hard and made a few easily fixable mistakes so we are move forward,” Podein said. “This week we are specifically working on controlling the puck and minimizing turnovers.”
Junior Charlie Hills said they have worked really hard and are ready for their second game.
“After Saturday’s loss the coaches have been pushing us really hard, and I’m excited to play again,” Hills said.
Last season the team beat Kennedy 6-1 and hopes to repeat the success according to Podein.
“This season will be more of a complete group effort to have success,” Podein said.
The team’s second game is 7:30 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Bloomington Ice Garden.
