Some people in this world have a love-hate relationship with the creamy soft and delicate puff pastry called a donut. If you are a donut lover then the Twin Cities Donut Crawl is the event for you.

The Twin Cities Donut Crawl is an event where people get to enjoy the donuts of three different donut shops plus other treats for $25.

TC Donut Crawl Co-founder Randy Kowlessar said he started the event as a way for fellow donut lovers to unite and enjoy the donuts the Twin Cities has to offer.

“There’s a team of four of us planning the donut crawl. We all had done two small crawls with just our friends last year. We had a blast, and people kept asking about it when they saw our posts on social media. So, this year we thought we’d open up the crawl to the entire city,” Kowlessar said.

Part of the money raised by the event is going to the charity foundation Second Harvest, which gives out food to those in need Kowlessar said.

“We figured if we were going to indulge in donuts, the least we could do is partner with an organization that aims to combat hunger,” Kowlessar said.

Senior Nick Harkness said the Donut Crawl was a great idea to spread awareness of all the donut shops through the city.

“It will introduce people to new donut shops throughout the city and give people a great variety of donuts at the different stores,” Harkness said.

According to Kowlessar the goal of the Donut Crawl is to offer people a chance to experience all the donut shops throughout Minneapolis and open peoples perspectives of donuts in the Twin Cities.

“We wanted to create a giant donut party. Our hope is that people will come with their friends and enjoy custom donuts at three great donut shops in Minneapolis,” Kowlessar said.

Kowlessar said he hopes after the Donut Crawl people will be more aware of how great their local donut shops are and hopefully that they will have a new favorite donut shop.

“This is great exposure for the three donut shops. They all make incredible products, and are a mix of old and new shops. I bet donut crawlers will possibly find a new favorite donut shop after the event,” Kowlessar said.

TC Donut Crawl hopes to create widespread donut awareness  throughout the Twin cities.

The Twin Cities Donut Crawl starts at 8 a.m. on Nov 8, at Five Watt Coffee and continues to Mel-o-Glaze bakery, Bogarts Donuts and Bakers Wife.

Tickets for the Donut Crawl cost $25 and are all sold out. The tickets include one free donut from each donut shop participating, punch cards for discounts at Dunn Bros Coffee, Five Watt and Groundshell. The ticket package also comes with a free custom Donut Crawl T-Shirt.
