How long have you been playing hockey?

“Since I have been six years old, I think. So I have been playing for most of my life. It is something I really enjoy and I just love playing alongside the guys.”

What position do you play?

“I play left wing.”

Is there anyone you look up to as a mentor or role model in your hockey career?

“Definitely some coaches along the years, a couple of the older guys for sure. A lot of the senior guys are good role models because they are hard working and care a lot about the sport. Some of my past coaches have been great mentors to help me work on my game and improve as a player.”

What has your first year on the varsity hockey team been like?

“It has been a great opportunity to play with such a great senior class and a great team. Playing on varsity is a great chance for me to improve my skills as a player and as a teammate. The experience so far has been enjoyable, and I look forward to continue playing with the team.”

What was last night’s Sections win against Benilde-St. Margret’s like?

“I feel like we were turning the bench over well. We were rolling our three lines and playing well as a team, and playing well as individuals. The fans were great. It was nice to get a win against Benilde after the loss before our Sections match.”

Can you describe Jonny Sorenson’s game winning goal?

“It was awesome. When he scored, the whole crowd went wild. The fans were great and it was a great team win. The team was really excited about it, and it was a great play by Jonny.”

Do you have a favorite memory from this season so far?

“I think for sure last night’s win is my favorite memory. It was a fun night and a great game. Obviously the end result was great, but I think the team played well the entire game. The winning goal was definitely a great moment for the team and for our fans. It was a really cool moment and I am excited for the next Sections game.”

What are you looking forward to in tomorrow’s game against Edina?

“I am just looking forward to tomorrow’s game. I think it’s going to be a good game. Edina is a great team and it is a Sections game, so it should be a tough matchup. We are hoping the fans come and show support.”
