After a season of preparation for the games that could take the Orioles to the championship, the team was unable to progress past the first round. Entering the first sections game with a winless regular season record of 0-8, Park football was playing with nothing on the line according to junior Duncan McIntyre .

“Coming into the game we had nothing to lose, our goal was to put up a good fight and impress some people,” said McIntyre.

The Orioles lost against their sections game to Apple Valley by a score of 52-16. Park’s touchdowns were both running plays by freshman Ja’min Smith and senior Bryant Griffin and the team scored on two point conversions after both touchdowns.

Even though they were down 36 points by the final horn, McIntyre said Park stayed strong as a team never stopped working together.

“We stayed together the whole game,” McIntyre said. “We made mistakes but never got down on our teammates.”
