Hi everyone, I’m Maten — also known as Trouten, Fraten or even Meowten (my wild counterparts.) As this is my third and final year on Echo, I am ready to go insane and enjoy this year as best as I can. Becoming the Sports Editor has been my life goal, but I also boast many other titles. I owe the promotion to Most Beloved Shoe Tier, Ever Illustrious Driver and Smartest Kindest M-Word to my favorite person ever, Elena. She has been through thick and thin: when my lizard’s crickets escaped into my room, when my car (R.I.P Sue) broke down and even through the multiple crises that led to me dying my hair a variety of colors. Come pop out and support my every move — my fan club can be seen on the Soccer field, Nordic track and I often lurk in the depths of Park’s broken-down pool. I love being tickled as well as my best friend Elena. Roll Orioles!
